Comprehensive planning experience

I purchased the Premium Annual Subscription, mostly for the Monte Carlo Risk Analysis and the Social Security Optimization Tool. Ordering was simple enough on their website. I received my login details almost immediately. The software itself has a lot of features; it took some time to get familiar with everything, but the help sections were quite useful. I specifically liked how it integrated the Tax Liability Projection into the overall plan. Delivery, in terms of access, was instant. I did have a minor question about inputting some specific investment types, and their support team responded within a day with a clear answer. The quality of the analysis is high, definitely helped me see my financial future more clearly. Overall, a very robust tool.

Got a good deal on subscription

I was looking for a good deal on financial planning software and found MaxiFi. I got the Premium Annual Subscription. The initial discount made it much more affordable than some competitors I looked at. It felt like a solid investment for the price. I compared it to a few other options, and this one offered the best value for what I needed in terms of features versus cost. Glad I went with it.

Reliable planning each year

This was my third year with MaxiFi, renewing my Premium Annual Subscription. I came back because it's always been consistent. The data updates seamlessly from year to year, which is a big plus. It's really helped me keep my financial goals on track. I even used the Roth Conversion Calculator this time, which I hadn't touched before. It's nice to know what to expect, and they deliver every time. No issues.

Good financial tool

I bought the Standard Annual Subscription. It helped me visualize my retirement savings better. The interface was straightforward. Setup took a little while, but it was worth it for the insights. Got what I needed from it.

Does MaxiFi sync with bank accounts like some other apps? Or is it all manual entry?

B Beth P. 2 months ago
Nah, it doesn't do direct bank syncing. You input everything manually. A bit of a pain at first but means they don't have access to your bank info.

S Sophie Okafor 2 months ago
Yeah, it's all manual. I actually prefer it that way for something this important, less chance of data breaches and feels more secure.

Thinking of getting MaxiFi, but not sure about the Standard vs Premium. Is the Premium really worth the extra cash?

K Kevin 2 months ago
Premium gives you Monte Carlo simulations and some tax stuff I think. Standard is good for basic planning but if you want to really stress test your plan, Premium is probably better.

I've got Premium and the Monte Carlo is super helpful for seeing how different market conditions might mess with your retirement. Worth it if you're serious about long-term planning.

How accurate is the Monte Carlo simulation part? Does it actually help or is it just fluff?

D David A. 2 months ago
It's pretty robust, based on historical market data and different scenarios. Not 'fluff' at all, it's a key feature for understanding risk.

The Monte Carlo simulation is a big part of why MaxiFi is so good. It helps you see how likely your plan is to survive bad markets, which is super important.

I'm a student, is there any kind of discount for us? Trying to get my finances in order but every penny counts.

N Noor 1 month ago
I've heard they have educator discounts, so maybe students too? Worth checking their site or contacting them directly.

I think I saw something about student discounts in their FAQs. Might be worth looking there first.

If I get the standard plan and decide later I want the premium features, can I upgrade easily or do I have to buy a whole new subscription?

B Beth 1 month ago
You can upgrade. I did it last year. They just pro-rate the difference for the rest of your subscription period.

B Ben G. 1 month ago
Yup, super easy to upgrade. Just go into your account settings and there should be an option.

Hey, I saw some ads for NewRetirement too. Anyone have experience with both MaxiFi and NewRetirement and can tell me which one is better?

B Beth 2 months ago
MaxiFi's approach is pretty unique with the consumption smoothing, it's all about maximizing your 'living standard'. NewRetirement is more traditional. Depends what you're looking for.

M Mia 2 months ago
I tried NewRetirement for a bit but found MaxiFi's focus on maximizing lifetime consumption more intuitive for long-term planning. Kotlikoff's method is pretty solid.

What's the deal with promo codes? Do they send them out or do you have to hunt for them?

J Josh 2 months ago
They usually send them for renewals, or sometimes special offers like Black Friday. For new subscriptions, you just enter it at checkout if you have one.

W Wendy Bennett 2 months ago
Keep an eye out around November, they usually have Black Friday sales that include promo codes for new subscriptions.
